Deals need words before they need signatures. Correspondence is the in-world mail room: your airline writes letters to another airline, inside one world, and the exchange lives under Partners as a thread you both keep.
Writing a letter#
Open the Directory, pick an airline, and use Write a letter. A letter has a subject and a body; replies continue the same thread. Unread letters badge the bell alongside your company mail, and the whole exchange lives at Partners: Correspondence.
Only player-run airlines read the mail. AI carriers do not answer letters; deal with them through the ordinary partner proposals instead (they answer those, see AI carriers). You write as your airline and the other side sees your airline: the game never reveals who the person behind a desk is.
Attaching a deal#
A letter can carry one deal already on file between the two of you: an interline or codeshare proposal, a joint venture, an outstanding absorption offer, or an alliance invitation. Propose it the normal way first (the partner pages), then attach it so your words and the paperwork travel together. The reader sees the deal's live status inside the letter and can accept it right there; a deal that has since been withdrawn or terminated says so honestly.
The house rules#
The rules apply to letters exactly as they apply to every other text players see: nothing offensive, misleading, or infringing. Beyond that:
- The mail room is rationed. A handful of letters per hour; a limited number of open threads with any one airline. Silence is a legitimate answer, and nobody owes you a reply.
- You can shut your letterbox to anyone. Block an airline from a thread and their letters stop arriving; unblock whenever you like.
- Report what crosses the line. Every thread has a report button. A reported thread is read by a moderator; nothing happens automatically.
Where letters live, and die#
Correspondence belongs to one world. It is not part of the world's official record: letters never appear in world events, never reach other airlines, and when a world closes into the archive, its letters are deleted rather than archived. Moderators can read a thread only after a participant reports it.
